Grogan’s originally established in 1750 and it feels as if the fundamentals haven’t changed too much since then. Moira and Miriam Grogan are your hosts and they preside over a wonderfully atmospheric traditional family pub and restaurant.
Through the small door entrance you are struck by the character and charm of the bar. The cozy front bar is divided in the traditional manner and has a lovely open fire, flag floor and a mixture of wood and brass furnishing. As you round the corner to the main restaurant there is another large open fire wide enough to accommodate Santa Claus.
The menu is varied and very good value and specialties include steaks and seafood dishes. Each dish has been imaginatively created; there is a sufficient choice to accommodate all tastes.
Restaurant is open from 12 to 9pm Monday to Saturday, 12 to 8pm Sundays and bank holiday Mondays.
