Internationally renowned, the Guinness Cork Jazz Festival features over 1,000 musicians in dozens of performances at 70 venues citywide with over 95% of music sessions free of entry charges – and is one of the jewels in the crown of Irish festivals.

For 2015, it will feature many of the top artists from the jazz and jazz-related world. The festival is also offering a top package of performance and educational opportunities aimed at school, college, community and university bands and ensembles from overseas.

Famous jazz stars and educators coming to Cork will deliver clinics and guest appearances free of charge – all part of the special Cork Jazz Festival experience.

The Richard Harris International Film Festival will celebrate the life and works of “Dickie” Harris. Dickie was not only a well-known Limerick and Irish actor, he was also a singer, theatrical producer, poet and film director of immense ability and charisma. This film festival is to celebrate his unique talent in the city where he was born and raised. Along with viewings of his most iconic films such as ‘The Field’, ‘This Sporting Life’, ‘Unforgiven’ and ‘Camelot’, the festival will be a showcase for young film makers, feature filmmakers from the Irish Diaspora, theatrical performers, poets, singers and writers.

The festival is a unique international platform for the Irish film-making diaspora to showcase their work here in Ireland. It is the only film festival in Ireland with ties to The Newport Beach Festival in LA.

The festival celebrated it’s 30th birthday in 2014 and has grown to be a wonderful and unique festival with something to interest all age groups. Highlights include music workshops, art exhibitions, concerts, talks, walks, children’s activities, sports events, lots of great music and a special highlight of the festival for the last few years has been the wonderful ‘After the Light’ parade, a spectacular night full of myth, magic, madness and mayhem!

The 63rd Wexford Fringe will open with a giant fireworks display in Wexford town to announce 17 days of fantastic fringe events. Running alongside the famous Wexford Festival Opera and Wexford Spiegeltent Festival.

Wexford Fringe offers an eclectic mix of over 300 events over 17 days including cabaret, comedy, circus, dance, film, theatre, puppetry, music, and visual art, many of which are free to attend.

Artists from around Ireland and further afield participate alongside home-grown talent, in art forms spanning cabaret, comedy, circus, dance, film, theatre, puppetry, music, visual art and design.

Wexford Fringe takes over the entire town with over 300 events staged in pop up venues as well as established venues such as theatres, hotels, art galleries, cafes and civic buildings.

What differentiates Wexford Fringe from many other Fringe Festivals is that alongside the ticketed open access programme are the Fringe produced and/or supported special free events, which run throughout the programme. These events add to the carnival atmosphere that engulfs the town and includes the Wexford Festival Opera and Wexford Speigeltent Festival.

For independent artists, Wexford Fringe is an inspirational environment to showcase their work. For audiences, it’s an opportunity to see exciting and entertaining contemporary work in an atmosphere that encourages taking a chance and seeing and discovering something new.
