Shannonside Winter Music Festival | 16 January – 20 January

This festival has been going from strength to strength over the last few years and next January’s event marks another step forward for this eclectic festival of the best in acoustic music. Between Thursday and Monday almost 80 concerts, pub gigs, sessions, and shows will keep the villages of Sixmilebridge and Bunratty buzzing and bouncing with acts from far and wide, as well as the cream of local talent. Galway Midwinter Festival | 17 January – 19 January

Celebrating the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth, Music for Galway’s Midwinter Festival continues its long-standing tradition of presenting a three-day weekend of themed concerts with musicians from Galway, Ireland and beyond. This year we are delighted to be joined by the internationally-celebrated duo team of Russian violinist Alina Ibragimova and French pianist Cédric Tiberghien. Music Minds | 18 January – 19 January

Music Minds 2020 is year two of a multi-genre festival of workshops, live shows, guest speakers and debates for those interested in advancing music, its lineage and its rapidly changing vista through technology. This will take place at Hotel Doolin on the 18th & 19th of January 2019 from 11pm through until late with workshops, panel discussions and demonstrations, followed by an evening of live performances and DJs. TradFest Temple Bar | 22 January – 26 January

TradFest Temple Bar is one of Ireland’s largest festival of traditional music we now also feature artists from the worlds of folk, nu-folk, and even (whisper it) rock and roll! We want to keep it special – we are still a boutique Winter festival – closing the door on the darkest season and ushering in the light and energy of Spring. Banjo and Bovril Trad Fest | TBC

Banjo & Bovril is an annual Trad and Folk Music Festival that takes place at The Harbour Bar, Bray. The Banjo & Bovril Festival is a revival of an old tradition Paul O’Toole Senior pioneered years ago; when short winter days were ended in the bar with a bit of banjo playing, some steaming cups of hot Bovril and a plateful of cheese and crackers. Over the past five years the festival has welcomed Mick Flannery, The Eskies, Ye Vegabonds, Mundy, Old Hannah, David Keenan, Paddy Casey, Bunoscionn, Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh and Crooked Jack to name a few.
