Arriving in Cobh
The countryside I passed on the train was really beautiful. There were meadows, and animals, and blue sky with fluffy white clouds. When the train pulled into to Cobh (I only had to transfer once in Cork, which was nice), I walked out into a tiny train station. I don’t even remember having to go inside of a building – we just walked out, under a gazebo-like building, to the road.
I left my luggage at the Commodore Hotel, where I would be meeting my research group later, and went in search of food. There were very few places that served food and took a card in Cobh. Many shops only took cash. I haven’t been able to get cash off my card for some reason, so all I had was a card and a few euro cent coins. I finally went into a bar and asked where I could…
