More of the Donegal Countryside…and fences 2006
There is something unusual in this photo…unusual for Ireland anyway. Any guesses? It’s the wooden fence! When you travel around Ireland, you see lots and lots of stone fences. You also see “fences” or hedges of trees and shrubs that separate fields. But you don’t see many wooden fences as we see here. I took this photo looking out over Loch an luir which translates into Lake of the Yew. As you can see, there are lots of yew trees here. There is also a small village by the same name nearby.
